Head of Account Strategy - FTC

Job description

Due to our lovely Head of Account strategy going on maternity leave shortly, we are seeking a replacement on a fixed-term contract (Approx 9-12 months)

Department overview

The Account strategy department has five key functions at Further:

  • To ensure successful campaign definition and execution
  • To ensure client retention and growth
  • To ensure timely and accurate invoicing across all clients
  • To represent the client internally, providing knowledge and insight to delivery teams
  • To support Further’s new business function in winning new clients


Key objectives of the role

Internal: leadership of the Account strategy operation – setting standards, following through on processes and measuring performance.

External: Advocate for Further’s wider service offering: networking, presenting to clients, building strong relationships for account retention and growth. 


The role

The Head will work with Louisa (MD) to follow the vision for the department, identifying services and talent requirements as necessary and ensuring the highest standards are understood, achieved and maintained.

Ultimately, the HOAS will help to determine and sign off all processes and associated documentation that relate directly to the Account Strategy department.

The Head will be responsible for shaping campaign strategies and client growth plans. They will also ensure that opportunities are of the right calibre and standard.

The Head will provide strong positive leadership to the department, agreeing on remits and maintain overall control for the departmental budgets (as they become available) and campaign budgets also. They will also conduct regular reviews with their staff to ensure progress against agreed metrics and career progression scales, provide a review on client accounts and promote discussion around next step improvements.

Importantly, the head will work on key accounts and lead by example.


Key responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with Louisa, to maintain the benchmark for Account Strategy and New Business across the agency – ensuring clear communication and high standards.
  • Ensure that processes are upheld and maintained in collaboration with AS team and the relevant Heads/Senior staff.
  • Guide and inspire the Account Strategy team.
  • Provide strong leadership for client campaigns
  • Working with other department heads to influence the development of Further’s delivery frameworks, processes and resource management.
  • Lead by example to maintain a culture of continuous, positive improvement.
  • Work with New Business support to manage all opportunities, allocate Account Strategy resource and oversee successful delivery (maintaining conversion rate of +50%)

The Head will also be a member of the Operational Management Team (OMT)

Requirements

Skill requirements 

  • Commercial thinking
  • Proven digital marketing experience
  • Management or leadership experience
  • Understanding of how to work with data in interpreting results for clients
  • Digitally savvy and up to date knowledge of online trends
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across Further’s range of operations
  • Strong organising/leadership skills, with confidence to define departmental best practice
  • The confidence and ability to present to clients and wider audience
